Blog 6: Biodata

My Biodata:

From past experience, I believe I am an organised and maticulous person. One who is able to coordinate and relate well to people, I enjoy organising events and take each problem as a challenge and opportunity to better my social and problem solving skills.

My frankness and openness in relating to people coupled with my cheerful smile has gained me many friends. With my calm and rational personality in facing problems, I have been an asset during stressful times where decisions have to be made.

Other than pursuing my academic dream, I indulge in ice skating, diving and wake boarding. Like most girls, I too enjoy watching movies and shopping to destress amidst my homework and exams.

Dear Hui Ming,

I am glad to know that you take each problem in your life as a challenge and not a burden. This is a very good way of learning!

Being frank and open to others is good. However, there are flip sides to this as well. So maybe you would want to look at certain situations before being frank to others about your thoughts?

These are just some of my thoughts. =)

Hi Huiming!

It's really good that you're so involved in these various sports. Amidst our crazy academic life, so many just lost all interest in other things but getting As in examinations. I enjoy reading your post and learning more about you :)

Also, I think honesty and frankness is very important nowadays. Maybe it is because I always meet people who are insincere and hypocritical, hence these are traits I really appreciate.

Good day!

Dear Hui Ming,

In the course of working together for our project, I have been thankful for your calm composure as well as your ability to crack a joke in times of tensions.

It is good that you take each problem as a challenge and opportunity to better your social and problem solving skills. There are never-ending opportunities to discover about ourselves and to constantly improve.

With a couple more years to go before you graduate from school, I am sure that you will be all prepared to enter the workforce by then. All the best!

Dear Hui Ming,

I admire your chararcter! I believe that true friends are those whom you can be comfortable in being open and frank with. Although conflicts or tensions may arise by being too frank at times, it is still beneficial in getting to know our friends better and improve the relationship, as long as the parties involved can forget about the conflict.

Nevertheless, we still have to be tactful in our choice of words even when we are being open, based on my past experience.

Being a person who is not afraid of challenges is a very important and useful trait in today's competitive society. I see that you are a good leader as well as a good team player. You will be a valuable asset to your future company, family and friends.

Cheers

Hello Bing Lin,

Thank you for your feedback. I too have realised that there are times that frankness is not the best stance to adopt.

Take for example a recent break up of one of my close female friend and her boyfriend of 3 years. What she really needed was for me to be there to listen and lend her a crying shoulder and not to hear my honest opinion of how I had noticed that he had grown increasingly to take her for granted.

Thus, this is a part that I have been working on and this module has equipped me with the communication skills that would aid me in this area.

Hello Yu Yin,

I believe that having a sport that one is passionate in is important in maintaining ones balance in Singapore's stressful and demanding environment. It would also serve as an avenue for stress relieve when the exams are round the corner.

Have a nice day too!

I share your sentiments that there are indeed numerous opportunities for us to seize everyday and it is through these opportunities that we are able to discover ones self and become a better person

Hello Jia Yi,

I am flattered by your appraisals and do thank you for it.

Personally, I believe that having a level headed mind during times of tension and stress would enable one to think clearly and act calmly. However, there are times when the stress is beyond what one can bare and it is during these times that we should be tactful about what we say and do.

I am grateful for having this opportunity to work in this project as it has given me an opportunity to practice my communication and leadership skills.
